Great vintage black mohair plush Kersa Germany Cat Mackemau Doll Puss n Boots. 15 cm or 6 1/2 inches tall, scarce smallest made. Metal ID tag on foot. Red orange felt boots, showing holes and inner excelsior wood wool stuffing.

All teddy bears & soft toys up until 1956 have a little metal Kersa tag. In 1948 Kersa moved to Mendelheim Germany producing teddy bears, dwarves, Easter Rabbits and cats. In 1960 Kersa ceased production of teddy bears and concentrated on making cloth and wooden puppets.
