Rushton Plush Kitten Cat Rubber Face, Silver/White Fur, Green Eyes Vtg 1950s/60s

  

Rare plush kitten by Rushton. This kitten has light silvery fur on both sides, but the top and back of the head and the chest and tail are white. This plush has green eyes which is one of the rarer eye colors for Rushton plush. Measures 8-1/2" tall when sitting and 10-1/2" long including the tail or 6 long not measuring the tail. The tail is not stuffed, and I think that is normal.

The tag says Rushton Star Creation on one side and The Rushton Company Atlanta, GA on the other side. I believe this kitten originally came with a pink ribbon around the neck.

You can decide which one she should wear. Rushton made plush toys in the 1950s and 1960s, so this kitten is approximately 60 years old. Condition: For its age, it is in great condition, however the fur is dusty and has a brownish tinge on the ends. All the seams are strong and there are no holes at all in this plush. The rubber face is very clean and the paint is bright.

There is a small wrinkle in the forehead that is basically raised rubber. I believe it is a normal manufacturing flaw. The original satin tag is frayed a bit on either side. The red ribbon is not original to the kitten.

It does not smell like smoke and I do not see any pet hair on it. I've seen a few of this particular kitten with the silver and white fur and I've seen one with just white fur and that was a Valentine kitten.
